Sands, 2019.
Red dirt from my hometown. I grew up there – playing outside, 38 degree summers. Ritual.
I brought this dirt to my now home – white beach, cool breeze. Ritual. Domesticity, home, history, nostalgia, cycles, life journeys.
I laid down my dirt and the tide came slowly and washed it into the Indian Ocean. The sun set.

Southerly's Tavern Carpark, Sea Container. 2019.

Thungarra, 2019, Ferro Cement.
A new permanent public artwork all installed by the bridge in Dongara/Port Denison. 'Thungarra' is the indigenous name for the estuary area, meaning 'sea lion place' later anglicised to Dongarra. The extra R dropped off later still but we're not exactly sure why. This sea lion and her cub celebrate the history and heritage of the area while adding vibrancy and a contemporary splash of colour. The site, south of the bridge, aims to strengthen the connection between the Dongara town center, the Irwin River precinct and the coastal environment. This public artwork is part of the Thungarra Art Trail, presented by the Dongara Denison Art Group with funding form the Shire of Irwin and Melissa Price MP Stronger Communities program.
